Policy and Rental Agreement

Please read our Policies & Rental Agreement very carefully. Finalizing your rental by placing a deposit constitutes a full and binding agreement subject to all the terms & conditions outlined below. Awareness of our policies will help you plan for your vacation and know what to expect; we want you to have a memorable, fun and relaxing getaway in our beautiful beach house, with no confusion or surprises - except maybe a pleasant one like spotting a sudden whale or sea lion, finding an agate or glass float on the sandy beach, or the power of clear, starlit night on the coast. A signed copy of the policy must be returned when making a reservation (see contact information).

RESERVATIONS & PAYMENTS

All reservations must be made by a guest who is at least 25 years of age and possess a valid credit card. Advance payment of 50% is due when the reservation is made. The balance is due 21 days before arrival and may be paid by  That no additional or undeclared tenants have occupied the home.  That the oven, refrigerator and freezer are emptied of all food and free from spills.  Lights and all electrical appliances should be off; windows and doors must be closed & locked.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations made more than 60 days before arrival will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellation or changes that result in shorter stays, made within 60 days of arrival, will forfeit the advance payment unless the house is rented for the full period of your reservation at the same rate. Cancellations made less than 14 days of arrival will be charged the full rental fee unless the house is rented for the full period of your reservation at the same rate. No refunds will be made for late check in or early departure. There are no refunds for weather related issues unless a mandatory evacuation is ordered by the National Weather Service, in which case a refund will be granted for the period of the ordered evacuation.

CHECK IN | CHECK OUT

Check in is at 4 p.m. Check out is at 11:00 a.m. Late checkout is a half day charge as this puts great stress on the cleaning crew to get the home ready for the next guests.

CRAB COOKING

No crab cooking is allowed anywhere on the property as the smell is almost impossible to remove. There are local facilities available to cook crab at the Waldport Seafood Company or the Dock of the Bay in old town Waldport. A $250 fine is assessed if any evidence of crab cooking anywhere on the premises is found.

CLEANING FEE

Our cleaning fee is for general cleaning and sanitation only. Please leave the home neat and orderly to avoid extra charges, which are assessed at $20 an hour.

DAMAGE DEPOSIT

Because we have your credit card, we do not charge a security deposit. We do reserve the right to charge your credit card account for damage, additional or undeclared tenants, theft or any special cleaning required after your stay. The following list is neither exhaustive nor exclusive, but is an illustrative list to help you avoid any extra charges. Please be sure:

  • No damage is done beyond normal wear and tear. 

  • No linens are lost or damaged.

  • Towels are for in-home use, not the beach.

  • Washer and dryer are for personal use only.

  • Please do not wash our linens or towels. 

  • All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in containers, and soiled dishes are placed in dishwasher and cleaned. 

  • There is no evidence of smoking, crab cooking or pets in the home. 

  • To return the keys to the Wayside Lodge Manager. 

  • All furnishings are not to be moved from the position in which they are found when you first enter the house.

  • That no additional or undeclared tenants have occupied the home. 

  • That the oven, refrigerator and freezer are emptied of all food and free from spills. 

  • Lights and all electrical appliances should be off; windows and doors must be closed & locked.

LOST KEYS & LOST ITEMS

The charge for lost keys is $20. The charge for sending items left behind is postage plus a $10 handling fee.

OCCUPANCY

The occupancy limit for the entire premises is 8 persons, including day guests or visitors of any kind. No parties or gatherings of any kind, purpose or duration may exceed this maximum occupancy limit without the written permission of the owners.

Occupancy for this property is strictly enforced and fines will be assessed for exceeding the number of allowed or reported guests, including children, and adults. If a breach of the occupancy limit is discovered during the stay, immediate eviction, surrender of the deposit and assessment of all applicable fines should be expected.

Occupancy, as used throughout this document, means only the condition of any part of this property being occupied by any person or persons for any purpose or duration. This definition of occupancy is not limited to any type of activity, such a sleeping or visiting.

The majority of guests must be over 25, or children (persons under the age of 25) supervised by an adult (persons over the age of 25.

No camping or residing outside the house, regardless of structure utilized (tent, camper or trailer), is permitted on any part of the premises.

No catered food, rented tables or amplified music allowed.

A fine of $500 a plus $100 per person for each person over the 8 person occupancy limit shall be assessed each day the 8 person occupancy limit is exceeded.

PET POLICY

Pets are not permitted. As many people are allergic to animal hair and dander, we ask that you please respect this policy. A $250 fine is assessed if evidence of a pet is found anywhere on the property.

SMOKING

There is absolutely no smoking within any part of the home. Please be respectful of the grounds and clean up any evidence of smoking outside. A $250 fine is assessed if evidence of smoking is found.

VEHICLES, TRAILERS & CAMPERS

No vehicle, other than a private passenger automobile with no more than 4 wheels, is permitted upon any part of the premises without the written consent of the owners.

Trailers, mobile homes, RV’s, camper trailers, vehicles with more than 4 wheels and the like are strictly prohibited.

No vehicle or trailer of any kind, regardless of the number of wheels, weight or use, are permitted on any part of the premises except for the gravel drive and gravel parking areas. If any vehicle or trailer of any kind, regardless of the number of wheels, weight or use, leaves the gravel drive or gravel parking areas and does any damage to the yard, landscaping or utilities (including but not limited to the plumbing and septic system), all guests and the trespassing party causing the damage shall be held strictly liable for all costs related to said damages.

OTHER GENERAL RULES

Please do not use the WiFi connection to do anything illegal and please do not visit adult websites on our WiFi connection.

Unauthorized opening of any locked units, closets, cupboards or other entities will result in criminal charges of burglary and theft.

Please respect locks; if it's not open, you do not have access to it. Please be sure to check the home carefully before you leave in order to ensure that you take everything you brought with you back home with you. Please leave nothing behind.

VIOLATION OF ANY POLICY OR LAW

In addition to the fines and remedies spelled out above, the violation of any provision of this agreement or of any law, regulation or ordinance, may result in all guests and occupants being expelled from the property, criminal charges and in the forfeiture of all payments and deposits regardless of the length of stay.
